Trustpilot

Connect a Trustpilot API key to read a business’s public Trustpilot profile and its published service reviews. A typical use is copying new reviews into a spreadsheet or routing low ratings to a follow-up task.

What you can do

  • Find Business Unit: look up a business by its domain and get its business unit ID, profile name, TrustScore, and review counts per star rating.
  • List Reviews: read one page of a business’s reviews, up to 100 at a time, newest or oldest first, optionally filtered by stars, language, location, tag, or whether the business replied. Each review carries its ID, star rating, title, text, language, date, and the reviewer’s display name.

Before you start

You need a Trustpilot Business account with the API module, the add-on that grants access to the Trustpilot API. Calls that return Trustpilot data count towards the yearly call allowance of your API module tier.

Set up Trustpilot

  1. Sign in to Trustpilot Business.
  2. Go to Integrations → Developers → APIs.
  3. Under Create a new application, enter a name (for example, metamorphOS) and create the application.
  4. Open the application and reveal the API key with the eye icon. Copy it. The API secret is not needed: the reviews and business unit lookups are public endpoints that take the key alone.

Connect in metamorphOS

Activate the Trustpilot connector from the marketplace, add an account, and provide:

  • API key: the key of the application you created.

That is the only value you need to supply. To check the credential, run Find Business Unit with your own domain, for example example.com.

Reading reviews

List Reviews needs the business unit ID, which Find Business Unit returns. Enter the domain only, without https:// or a page path.

  • Page starts at 1. A page past the last one returns no reviews.
  • Reviews per page is at most 100.
  • Order takes createdat.desc (newest first), createdat.asc, stars.desc, or stars.asc.
  • To collect every review, repeat List Reviews with the next page until a page comes back empty. The total number of reviews is in the review counts that Find Business Unit returns.

Good to know

  • The business unit ID of a business rarely changes. For a process that runs on a schedule, look it up once and store it rather than calling Find Business Unit on every run.
  • List Reviews serves at most 100,000 reviews of a business.
  • Trustpilot recommends staying below 833 calls per 5 minutes and 10,000 calls per hour.
  • If you store Trustpilot reviews, Trustpilot expects you to mirror its deletions every 28 days, and to refresh displayed review data every 24 hours. This connector does not cover the deletions endpoints.
  • Trustpilot’s private APIs, such as invitations, need OAuth and are outside this connector’s scope.
