The Admin Role
Admin is a special authorization that grants elevated access: the parts of metamorphOS used to build and operate processes, not just take part in them.
What admins can see
The navigation reflects the difference directly:
- Standard users see the everyday work areas: Tasks, Processes, and Datastores.
- Admins additionally see: Users, Integrations, Monitor, Resources, and Build.
When it’s required
Admin is needed for the work of building and running the platform itself:
- Building and deploying processes in the Builder.
- Connecting integrations to outside systems.
- Monitoring running instances and diagnosing failures.
- Managing resources and shared configuration.
Best practice
Grant Admin sparingly. Most people only need to complete tasks and follow processes - give them a standard account, and reserve Admin for the few who build and operate. Fewer admins means a smaller surface for mistakes.
