WISO MeinBüro

Connect a WISO MeinBüro account to run invoicing and bookkeeping work from a process. metamorphOS calls the MeinBüro API to create and read customers, suppliers, articles, offers, orders, invoices, delivery notes, expenses, files and to-dos. MeinBüro does not send events to metamorphOS, so this connector is outbound only.

What you can do

  • Customers and suppliers: create, list, read and change them, with addresses and contact persons.
  • Articles: create, list, read, change and delete articles, and set the units and categories articles can use.
  • Offers and orders: create an offer or order confirmation from articles or free lines, change it, read it, download it as PDF, and turn an order into an invoice.
  • Invoices: list and read invoices, download them as PDF, book a payment, lock an invoice and send it by email.
  • Delivery notes: list and read delivery notes and download them as PDF.
  • Expenses: create, list, read, change and delete expenses and their receipts.
  • Files and receipts: upload a file to MeinBüro’s document storage, let MeinBüro read the receipt data from it, tag it, assign it to a customer or supplier, download it and delete it.
  • To-dos: create to-dos linked to customers, suppliers and users, set their due date and status, add messages, and link or unlink records.
  • Settings and reference data: account settings, payment and delivery conditions, the chart of accounts, tags, users, and MeinBüro’s value lists such as salutations and article units.

Before you start

You need:

  • A WISO MeinBüro account you can sign in to at app.meinbuero.de.
  • Permission to create an extension in the MeinBüro Marketplace. metamorphOS connects through an extension you create for your own account; it does not need to be published.

Set up MeinBüro

  1. Sign in to WISO MeinBüro at app.meinbuero.de and open the Marketplace.
  2. Enter your publisher details. Under Erweiterung erstellen, choose Herausgeberinformationen angeben, fill in the details and save. This is needed once per account.
  3. Create the extension. Choose + Erweiterung erstellen, give it a name such as metamorphOS, and enter a Callback-URL. Any address you control works, for example your company website; MeinBüro only uses it to show you the Ownership-ID in the next steps.
  4. Generate the API key. Choose API-Key generieren. MeinBüro shows an API key and an API secret. Note both.
  5. Tick the API access. Scroll to API-Zugriffe and tick every area your processes use, for example customers, invoices and files. At least one must be ticked. A call to an area that is not ticked fails.
  6. Save the extension. Choose Als Entwurf speichern at the top right. A saved draft can be used right away.
  7. Get the Ownership-ID. In the API key area, choose Erweiterung testen. MeinBüro opens your callback URL with ?iid= followed by a value, for example https://www.example.com/?iid=…. The value after iid= is the Ownership-ID. Note it.

Connect in metamorphOS

Activate the WISO MeinBüro connector from the marketplace and add a credential of type Username and password (login token):

  • Username: the API key.
  • Password: the API secret.
  • ownershipId: the Ownership-ID from step 7.

You enter the three values once. metamorphOS exchanges them for a session token when the first call goes out, keeps using that token, and requests a new one by itself when MeinBüro ends the session. Nothing needs to be renewed by hand.

Enter the values again only when something changes in MeinBüro:

  • You generate a new API key and secret: update Username and Password.
  • You delete and recreate the extension, or connect another MeinBüro account: update all three values, because the Ownership-ID changes too.

To connect several MeinBüro accounts, add one credential per account. Each credential carries its own Ownership-ID.

Check the setup

The MeinBuero Test process checks the connection without any input. It:

  1. lists the first customer of the account,
  2. reads that customer back by its id.

It needs the customer access ticked under API-Zugriffe. In an account without customers it ends after the list call, which still confirms the sign-in. The test only reads; it changes nothing in MeinBüro.

Good to know

  • API access decides what works. If a call fails while the test succeeds, check that the area it touches is ticked under API-Zugriffe, and save the extension again after a change.
  • Lists come one page at a time. Each list returns a page of records with the total count; use Offset and Limit to read further pages.
  • Documents come back as PDF files. Offers, orders, invoices and delivery notes can be downloaded as PDF and passed on in the process, for example as an email attachment.
  • A locked invoice cannot be changed. Lock Invoice finalizes it in MeinBüro.
  • No events from MeinBüro. MeinBüro offers no webhooks, so a process learns about a new invoice or payment by reading it.
